About us

Thames Tiddlers Nursery is a private day nursery, owned and managed as a family run business. The Company Directors Danni and Claire have been providing childcare for children since 1997. Danni and Claire have lived and worked in the local area which has given them an in depth understanding of the needs within the community.

  • We provide places for 48 children a day.
  • We provide places for two year entitlement and the three and four year old funded places including 15 hours and the 30 hours funded places.
  • Thames Tiddlers provides quality childcare from 3 months to 4 years.
  • We are open from 8.00 am to 6 pm Monday to Friday.
  • We offer full time sessions and part time sessions.
  •  Thames Tiddlers Nursery is open Monday to Friday (except Bank Holidays). Thames Tiddlers Nursery will also be closed for up to two weeks at Christmas. All Bank Holidays and Christmas closures must be paid for in advance. We also close for 4 inset training days a year usually held 1 in January, 2 in May and 1 in September.

The nursery consists of three rooms. The Baby and Toddler room which provides care for 12 babies from 3 months to 2 years, the Toddler room proving care for 20 children who are between 2 years and 3 years old and the Pre-school room which provides care for up to 16 children from 3 years to 4 years.

We recognise that nursery school is a big step for your child. We provide settling in sessions to help you and your child become familiar with both the staff and nursery surroundings. We also offer a “Home Visit”. We carry out this visit for your child to make a bond with their key person in their home environment.

Our priority is to ensure that you and your child are happy while attending our nursery. We enjoy working in close partnership with parents keeping them well informed about the nursery and their child's progress.

Our Vision

At Thames Tiddlers Nursery we believe in a creative enquiry based learning approach, where the children are at the centre of their learning. We create an environment where children are valued as unique, creative and independent individuals. We want children to become strong, confident and competent learners, through their daily explorations and experiences with their peers and teachers. We believe children and adults co-construct knowledge and our educators use these experiences to provide a rich, inspiring and resourceful environment. With our vision all children will become lifelong learners who value and respect all of their creative creations, ideas, thoughts and that of others.

As a nursery we aim to:

Create strong relationships that are built through support, respect and trust ensuring everyone feels valued

Ensure children are leaders of their own learning with the presence of supportive adults

Promote and embrace our values in everything we do

Create successful collaborative relationships between all children and adults

Provide a welcoming environment where all children and their families feel safe and secure, in order to create close links between home and the nursery so that there is a two way exchange of ideas.

Offer a rich and inspiring learning environment

Be the best we can be, whilst always looking for ways to enhance and develop our vision

Provide experiences and encounters for children to gain confidence in their own abilities and increase independence in learning situations.

To create a calming environment where children are able to communicate, express and be listened to.
