The Baby and Toddler room.

In the baby and toddler room the environment is full of creative and natural materials to enable the children to express and understand the world around them. The children encounter materials such as clay, paints, recycled and natural objects for which they can use to construct, build and piece together their own compositions.

Thoughts on the atelier - Mir Gwilliam-Parkes (atelierista) worked at Thames Tiddlers from September 2015 - July 2017

The wonderful thing about the atelier space is its ability to evolve, grow and develop. Each child that enters the space imprints their own ideas onto its walls, it is like a natural organism and each one is unique. Its heart comes from the people that occupy the space and its identity grows naturally from each enquiry, provocation and experience that happen within its walls. It is a hub of information, expression and creativity which opens up endless possibilities for the children and adults that work within it.
