Meal Times

At Thames Tiddlers Nursery we provide a balanced and nutritional healthy eating plan.
We provide the children with three healthy meals and snacks throughout the day.

Breakfast
Breakfast consists of a choice of wholegrain cereals, wholemeal toast and fresh fruit.

Lunch
Lunch is provided by a company called Apetitio which are based in the Royal Borough of Greenwich. All meals provided are low in fat, salt and sugar. Children are encouraged to choose from the selection provided. The selection always consists of a vegetarian option, a meat option, a side of vegetables and a side of potatoes/rice. For dessert we have a selection of fresh fruit/custard/ice-cream.

Afternoon Tea
Afternoon Tea consists of either a hot or cold menu. These can include a variety of sandwiches, soups etc. All afternoon Tea options are vegetarian. The children take part in preparing their own tea on a weekly basis. We found this to have a huge impact on  how our children view different types of food. This leads to the children being more willing to try new foods.

Snack times
Snack times are twice daily at 10.30am and 2.30pm in the baby room.

We encourage parents/carers from all cultural backgrounds to participate in cooking sessions with the children. This enables the children to explore foods from all around the world.
